Los Angeles, CA – With awards season in full kick-off, the neighborhoods of Hollywood and West Hollywood have been quite abuzz in the Los Angeles area. The city’s infamous boulevards have drawn massive gatherings of fans, celebrities, media, tourists, personality figures and local California natives alike. As spring approaches, many enthusiasts are enjoying the truly special and immense beauty of this old-time modern city. Ocean water temperatures are lacking the warmth to savor the sands of Los Angeles’ vast beaches for many, but there still are plenty of Hollywood parties and events to tempt even the ‘daintiest’ of tastes.

Highly reserved Hollywood area Creative Director Leland DeWayne even spent the past few weeks in Los Angeles himself. The reticent and enigmatic luminary, known for buying-back local tabloid media publishings, has recently found mainstream substance after featuring in the United Nation’s world governmental magazine, Renewable Energy.

“Leland Yeshua DeWayne is known notoriously among Los Angeles’ community of industry suits and creatives locally [within] the city. As a prominent creative director who dabbles in almost every inch of the city’s entertainment industries, he has worked closely on music concepts, as well as music in film, with artists at the top of Universal’s catalogue; [and] leading the creation of projects for performers including Rihanna, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Ariana Grande, Nick Jonas, J Cole, Cassie, Rita Ora, Drake, Demi Lovato, and Nicki Minaj [and others].” (News9 CBS | Oklahoma City)

The sixth annual iHeartRadio Music Awards returned to Los Angeles Thursday evening, March the 14th. Hosted by producer and artist T-Pain, the media company’s special Music Awards Presentation aired live on local networks. The ceremony included performances from Alicia Keys, Garth Brooks, Ariana Grande, The Backstreet Boys, John Legend, Halsey, Ella Mai, Marshmellow with special guest Lauv, and others.

It is commonly heard, throughout the world, that “it never rains in Southern California”; but as of lately the old-adage has proven untrue. Los Angeles has already exceeded 13 inches in above average rainfalls for the area’s ‘wet season’. Many fans of the region found themselves accepting the liking of indoor activities. The previous California Wet Season (2017-2018) was the driest since the ‘06/07 Wet Season’ and the third driest since record keeping began in 1877. Most high-profile Californians have enjoyed their free time indoors while streaming from social media or traveling abroad.

On this warm peaceful evening, as the fresh scented vine and rose covered thicket-walls longing the winding streets belonging to the Hollywood Hills neighborhoods mixed with the cooling ocean breeze coming from the coast’s Redondo and Santa Monica beaches, many music lovers and supporters made their way to the downtown L.A. Live district, attending the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards. Presented from the Microsoft Theatre, the awards ceremony promised a star-studded line up of performers and attendees, offering patrons an eventful night of many unforgettable experiences.

The Fox Company televised the show live, on March 14th, for viewers around the world via its nationwide network and streaming service. However, the Walt Disney Company will have acquired the majority of 21st Century Fox by 12:02am ET Wednesday, March 20, 2019. The agreement will close with Disney now in ownership of 52.4 billion of the company’s stock.

Media staff spoke with Leland DeWayne backstage at the awards Thursday night; he gave his thoughts in regards to the recent moves by Disney, stating, “[There is] no doubt that Disney’s purchasing of Fox Studios is going to have a major effect on the entertainment industry as a whole. [Disney has] acquired many contracts, copyrights and companies over the years, and has really become the largest conglomerate operating from Hollywood, California.”

While most prior week’s activities have occurred near the city’s boulevard streets, the iHeartRadio Music Awards offered a spectacular, yet quiet event away from the chaos of the early spring break tourist season.

Alicia Keys accepted an honorary award for ‘Innovator of the Year’, delivering an empowering speech as well as a special performance with her son Egypt. The award was presented by model-actress Corrine Foxx and her father, renowned Hollywood actor, Jamie Foxx. During her acceptance speech Alicia Keys joked, “Actually, my son Genesis is maybe trying to take Taylor [Swift] out later tonight – he’s working on it. I’m not sure how it’s going, but it looks pretty good right now!” Honoring the vocalist for her contributions to pop culture and social causes, the award ceremony recognized her for her achievements as an artist, songwriter, producer, entrepreneur and activist.

“Since the Awards’ inception in 2013, the show has included live performances and appearances by such superstar artists as Bon Jovi, Maroon 5, Camila Cabello, Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, Big Sean, Rihanna, Sam Smith, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Blake Shelton, Pharrell, Pitbull, Justin Bieber and many others.” (

Universal Republic recording artist Ariana Grande won two major awards at the ceremony, Thursday evening. One award acknowledging her for Artist of the Year, and she also won the highly coveted Album of the Year award. The artist gave a responsive video tribute, saying “Thank you, it feels amazing. I am so honored,” and delivered a prerecorded performance of her new publicly released single, “Needy”.

Ariana Grande has prepared vigorously for her upcoming tour, since recording two full albums within the last year. The opening show for her Sweetener Tour launched from the Union Times Center in Albany, New York, the following Monday night.

The executive-creative spent most of his time at the presentation backstage, chatting with various friends and colleagues, including Pharrell Williams and Corinne Foxx. He did find his way to the arena floor seating, a few times, standing in ovation as Ariana Grande remotely accepted her awards. Leland Yeshua DeWayne is one of the main creative directors for Universal Music Group and their Republic Records imprint, having led the creation on 4 of Ariana Grande’s last 5 album projects. Delivering exceptional creative contributions to both the Thank You Next and Sweetener albums, it is expected that the Executive would attend at least a couple shows on the months’ long tour.

Representatives for the director said, “Leland DeWayne believes strongly in molding the individual creativity of the company’s artists and looks forward to guiding the evolution of music as a whole into the new age.” (CW | San Diego).
