Chosun University (먹튀폴리스) Elected For Supporting Startups in Sports Industry 6 Years in a Row
Director of Sports Industry Foundation Support Center (먹튀검증) of Chosun University, has been re-elected this year after carrying out the ‘supporting project for startups in local sports industry’ for the past five years.
For 6 years in a row, Chosun university has been elected for “supporting project for startups (incubation, occupation) in sports industry” by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation.
Sports Industry Foundation Support Center Chosun University has been re-elected this year after carrying out, for the past 5 years, the ‘supporting project for startups in local sports industry’, which was first put in motion by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2014. With ₩430 million state funds supported by the government, SIFSC will implement customized education for the sports industry and venture incubating programs to meet local demands.
As such Sports Industry Foundation Support Center of Chosun University will continue to play a pivotal role in leading the local sports industry, such as developing local sports industry and creating jobs, as well as continuously supporting Korea to take a leap from a “sports powerhouse” to “sports industry powerhouse.”
The Sports Industry Entrepreneurship Education Program will be recruiting about 40 students until March 30th, carrying out the course in three parts: basic courses; required courses (April ~ May) and field trip; Two Stages Intensive Course (June).
The course contents consist of necessary courses for entrepreneurship and required courses for sports industry, including • understanding and application of sports industry • sports business models development • sports market environment analysis and developing ideas for sports related start-up • Drafting business plans • business plan and procedures • Guideline to Entrepreneurship laws, etc.
In addition, along with entrepreneurship mentoring and consulting with experts, the Center will provide networking opportunities among start-up trainees and proceed to visit industrial sites and have practical training.
Once the training is completed, six teams (including one social enterprise) will be selected as the 2019 beneficiaries of venture incubating and be provided with the maximum of ₩ 40 million venture incubating funds per team.
“We are planning to lead local sports industry entrepreneurship education and venture incubating businesses by establishing a foothold”, said Sports Industry Foundation Support Center of Chosun University, “so sports industry can take a leap from simple entertainment to profit creating industry.”
Meanwhile, the Sports Industry Foundation Support Center of Chosun University was elected as the center for the No.2 Region (안전놀이터) in the Selection for ‘Local Sports Industry Foundation Support Center’, which was first implemented by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2014, and for the last 5 years SIFSC of Chosun University has been supporting the establishment of various types of sports businesses such as Sports ICT Fusion (토토사이트) and Convergence Enterprise (스포츠토토), Sports Tourism, Marine Leports and Sports Social Enterprise, in order to develop new sports markets in response to changes in demand in the sports market and create jobs.
Through this SIFSC of Chosun University obtained 33 IPRs, including patents and design rights, achieved the 100% success rate of founding star-ups regarding 24 venture incubation teams, and attracted ₩1.75 billion ($1.6 million) of state supporting funds by collaborating with related Venture Incubation Organizations.
